HOW TO WORDPRESS

REMEMBER YOU ARE WORKING WITH "PAGES"  NOT COMMENTS OR POSTS
THERE IS A "HELP" TAB AT TOP RIGHT THAT PROVIDES HELP WITH WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING
WE JUST CHANGED THE ACTUAL EDITOR JUNE 27TH AND IT IS THE SAME AS ETOMITE YOU WERE USING.

These are the very basics and I will be adding more daily.

Wordpress is a "blog" manager that we use modified templates and set ups to operate a web site without all the blog type entries.  Wordpress has been around for over 12 years and has 20-30 million users.  It also has 2800+ plug in modules for everything from polls to stats.

THERE IS A HELP BUTTON TO THE TOP RIGHT OF EVERYTHING YOU ARE WORKING ON AND HAS  DECENT INSTRUCTIONS

 THE MAIN THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT YOU DO ** NOT ** HAVE TO DO ANYTING WITH POSTS OR COMMENTS - ONLY PAGES

IF NOT ALREADY DONE WHEN YOU CLICK ON A PAGE TO EDIT THERE SHOULD BE 3 ROWS OF ICONS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE - IF NOT CLICK ON THE 2ND ICON TOP ROW FROM THE RIGHT "SHOW KITCHEN SINK"

LOG IN
go to site /in
click on wordpress site manager
log in

ADD A NEW PAGE
to add a page
left column
click on Pages
Add New
Blank box at top enter exactly what you want to show up in the navigation bar
insert what you want in bottom box

EDIT AN EXISTING  PAGE
to edit a page
left column
click on Pages
click on the page listed you want to edit and it will load in the box to right
click on update when done

WORKING AREA WINDOW SIZE
resize the working area of the page

you can grab the lower right corner and drag it to what ever size you want

you can click on the button that looks like a TV (top row 3rd from left usually) this will make it full window - click it again to return to normal

COPY PASTE FROM WORD, PUBLICHSER
copy and paste right from word
even keep the links intact
click on icon with folder and W
copy (ctrl c) and paste (ctr v) into pop up box
click on update

BEST way is to copy and paste into "notepad" and then from there to your site page

LINKS
type in text that you want to show up
left click and drag your mouse across it
click on icon above that looks like a piece of chain link
enter the entire address of the link as  http://website
if it is OUTSIDE of your site
click on the arrow to the right of the Target
select
Open in new window (_blank)

INSERT AN IMAGE
easiest to make page view full size (icon like blue tv on top row)
click mouse where you want to put photo
don't worry if it does not go there you can drag it around
click on other icon that looks like tv but gray 4th from right
pop up window comes up
click on "browse" to find your image on your compuer
Do not use "flash" loader - click on browser loader
click on open
click on upload
if it does not load up on the window
click on show (right side)
if that does not work - click "from media gallery" at the top
find photo and click show next to it
click on right left center for location on page
click on size - I usually use medium
if it did not locatate it self where you wanted it just click on it and drag it to where you do
if you want to resize it - click on image and you will see little boxes on each corner of the imate - just click on one and drag image till you get the size you want
to reposition or edit
click on image and a little image will show up in the top left corner
click on this and you can change what you specified above
when done click on "insert in post" button

PAGE ORDER
page order in navigation column
when done with adding pages
left column
click on Pages
click on My Page Order
Place mouse over page and a cross will appear
Left click and drag / drop where you want it
When done
click on tab   Click to Order Pages
